Start Your SAHM Journey The Right Way

Moms Give Hope (Hope for Mom series)

Slowly one step will go in front of the other and you will start to see that it’s not just about hope for mom but that at essence it’s moms giving hope to others.  If you read and acted on what we discussed in my last post, Hope for Mom, you now know where your hope is coming from.

Now let’s look at how and why moms are examples of hope.  But first, make sure you are caught up.

Hope Inspiration

I gotta tell ya, that at the beginning of my motherhood journey I absolutely was me-centered. I was thinking not just of myself, but I was also thinking very little about others. I thought I was self-less, loving and caring. However, the truth was – I was selfish.

I was lacking compassion and a nurturing heart. At the time I couldn’t even keep a plant alive!

(Honestly Y’all I still forget about those little guys, I even let a Christmas cactus plant die. Yes, it’s that bad)

Stepping into motherhood so many times means being remade from self-centered to others-centered. And why shouldn’t it be since we are examples of hope?

When we are self-centered we can’t raise children who are others-centered. We can’t reach those who are hurting.

We must get to know our Creator.  And if we know Him, we MUST cultivate our relationship with Him.  The world will tell you it’s all about you, but the truth is, it isn’t.

“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” Mark 10:45

That means we moms are walking in His footsteps.

We grasp onto hope for our own lives, then we, just as Jesus did, show and give hope.

Motherhood is the very definition of hope. We don’t absorb encouragement and run off, floating on our cloud of joy. Meanwhile, chaos happens to our husbands and children, to our fellow moms and women in our community.

No.

You are to step up and give hope to all those around you. Yes, even those that lead you to feel hopeless, you can, in turn, provide them with the very meaning of hope!

Why do you have to do it?

Well, you don’t have to be that light, that spark, that hope of something better. But I know you want to be.

You’d give anything to be that optimistic person that really enacts change in your life and theirs. It’s apart of being a woman. God made men to conquer and control… but what about women?

Wait… Why did God make us in the first place?

Because man was missing the thread that would give him completeness.  Women hold together the relational bonds of life. As moms we create the framework for life; all the moving and shaking in the world would not happen without us.

God created you as a woman on purpose to show sacrificial love. We have to cultivate this love in our lives by first receiving hope. Start by praying and allowing Him to show you in His word your purpose and your strength.

Confidently say “My hope is in the Lord”.

Then slowly take small steps of acting on the hope you are receiving. Slowly then, but seamlessly, give hope to those around you.

Give them ideas for change
Give them apologies as needed
Give them a phone call or a card of remembrance

We’ll talk more in-depth about Actions You Can Take To Give Hope in my next post.  But right now, START and you will see that these small actions will make a difference in their lives but also in how you view your own life.

Have you been following this short series on Hope for Mom?
