Positive Mindset
Chapter 4 verses 7-8:
And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.
God’s peace will guard us
The Peace of God will Guard us! Only that we trust Him with our frets and worries. Every time I read that – Be anxious for nothing but by prayer and supplication let your requests be made known to God – I get convicted. I usually stop and pray.
Whatever the outcome, He is promising here that He will provide peace to endure the trouble for however long it takes.
A dwelling is a home
See the word DWELL. We need to make our home planted in God’s Word and His goodness all around us. We won’t rejoice in the Lord if our minds are constantly harboring the negative, the downfalls, the deeds of the evil.
No, instead your focus is to be on Christ, and the light He brings in the world. Don’t let your mind go to darkness and failure. That’s where we get caught. I find the easiest way to dwell in positivity is to create a gratitude list.
Phil 4:9-10
Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.
I rejoiced greatly in the Lord that at last you renewed your concern for me. Indeed, you were concerned, but you had no opportunity to show it.
One of my downfalls – Selfishness.
Completely selfish.
At least that was me about 10 years ago (now I’m only 98% selfish lol!). I did not understand at that stage of my life (a decade ago) how people who said they cared weren’t always available to me. It is laughable now because I realize the various mindsets, abilities and circumstances of others.
There could be such a numerous amount of things out of their control that would lead to a new mom being left alone to figure it out. Now I’m not saying that we each have no responsibility.
Having a Positive Mindset
I’m saying that as the person in need we have to look to God, not people to fill that void and need. When and how he sees fit, He will send the provision we need. No matter how down we may feel, remembering that He won’t ever give us more than we can handle will strengthen you through the trials.
As a sahm you cannot allow your thoughts, of your children, your situation in life, your friends or lack of, or even the change of career to being a home manager to rule your everyday. You must move forward trusting God in His goodness. You can do this by reminding yourself of the good in life, even in your own life.
You might not see it but it is good that you experience daily.
