Week 2 of our January Philippians Bible Study of chapter 4.
Just now joining?
This study is primarily available through my Facebook Page which you can find here: MomLife Organizer on Facebook! During the month of January, I will be posting my thoughts and findings of Philippians chapter 4 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays – on my Facebook page.
However, I will be posting a summary of sorts right here on the blog every TUESDAY this month.
Last Thursday we continued with chapter 4 verse 1:
Therefore, my beloved brethren whom I long to see, my joy and crown, in this way stand firm in the Lord, my beloved.
Paul’s love for the brethen, for fellow Christians, was the top of his list and it should be ours too. We see the eternal link between us but sometimes at home we know it but we don’t hold it. It’s hard, we are by ourselves, well, with littles. But sometimes we need more than the kids we are caring for and yet not able to communicate fully with.
If you’ve been following me, you know that I chat about the need for moms to REACH outside of themselves to help others. For more details on how reaching out can improve your contentment inside read my my article, 3 Habits of Successful Stay at Home Moms, featured on the Christ-Centered Mama.
God doesn’t mean for us to be alone in our mothering, if we are at-home or out in the workplace, BOTH can be terribly lonely and isolating. But by reaching out to others and considering that we aren’t the only ones doing this thing alone, we can begin to unite. We can feel and see God’s presence and be strengthened by this.
Philippians 4:1b
in this way stand firm in the Lord, my beloved.
1st – Let’s remember that God is our strength, and we find our ability to stand fast in Him and our future in Him. Even when no one is around.
2nd – God has made us be closely knit to each other. He has created us to be in good communion with Him and each other. So it’s ok to seek relationships, not out of idolizing relationships, but for good fellowship. We do need each other. Phil. 4:2
