Wednesday Weekly Routine for Moms
Wednesdays are wonderful! In this part of the 7-Day Everyday Habits of Stay-at-Home Moms series, we’re going to tackle the Wednesday routine.
Don’t give in to the hump day mentality. As moms don’t have time for that because basically, every day is a challenge. Let’s not focus in on one day being worse than the others.
“this is the day the Lord has made let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalms 118:24
If you do struggle with midweek madness check out the Monday motivation list.
Otherwise, your Wednesday should be good to go. Your house should not have much mess since you and the kids were out of the house yesterday. So things are relatively decluttered.
Waking up to little clutter, plus my natural bent, lead Wednesdays to be perfect for a teaching day.
There’s not much to do with 0-1-year-olds but still, take advantage of the special mom time. One thing you could do (if you are ok with videos) is educational videos. I created a YouTube playlist for my first toddler and years later I still use it for my third toddler, well now preschooler.
Wednesday Weekly Routine With Kids
In short order, here are some optional Wednesday activities per age group.
0-1 | 2-3 | 4-5 |
Color matching
Singing Rhymes Matching shapes Ball Roll and Catch Painting with Watch |
Puzzles
Learning to Cut Connect the dots Matching cards Hand Clapping Games |
Basic Drawing
Reading together StarFall.com File Folder Games Practice Writing |
I stop with 5-year-olds because older kids are either in school or you are busy homeschooling them.
A Weekday Without Kids at Home
If all your kids are off to school, what do you do on Wednesday?
You can fill the morning with work at home tasks, additional cleaning (there’s always a need to clean something), making ahead meals, volunteering at your child’s school, and ministering to the saints (other Christians) by helping at church.
One good thing to do is help another mom.
Visiting and helping moms who still have littles at home, babysitting for them and doing the above activities with their children, visiting or calling the elderly, finding ways to help your own parents or doing errands you couldn’t get to yesterday.
The Main Points
Just don’t get so caught up that you forget to attend to the everyday habits. What are those? Find out more in the introduction post to this series, Everyday habits of the stay-at-home mom.
Have a wonderful Wednesday!
