How to Stop Being Sad in the Morning
I had so many days at the beginning of motherhood when I just didn’t want to wake up. Sad mornings became the normal. This equated to me not wanting to go to sleep.
I knew once I went to sleep I’d instantly be rushed into another day of boredom, crying, screaming, and frustrations. I honestly felt trapped in my stay at home-ness.
I didn’t understand it then but I know now that those sad mornings were because I wasn’t trusting in the Lord, nor was I focused on the right things in my life. I was very self-centered. Instead of looking to wake up to another opportunity to get things right, to instruct and guide my toddler and to build up my home (through organization, cleaning, and diligence), I was simply focused on my wants.
Now I’m not saying this is you, you can analyze yourself. But stop and think:
Why do you feel sad or lonely or even apathetic about the NEW day?
Maybe you need to get out of your house more. I know this can be a trial of itself, but it doesn’t have to be. If it takes a few hours to get everything together, so be it! Let this day be for an outing. To avoid sad mornings, let there be a day every week for an outing (if it takes a while to just get outside).
Maybe you are lonely and you don’t really realize it. Call up some friends, make a list of ways you can find new friends or at least email me 🙂
Maybe you are confused about your duties at home. How do you fill the time, after it seems you played forever with your child and did everything you can think of and it’s only 9:45 am? Those first few years at home can be completely bewildering if you haven’t someone to guide you.
That’s why I started this site. Have a look around but here are some ideas to get you started:

As I always encourage, pray. Pray for God’s guidance about how to end sad mornings.
Put on some worship music or hymns and figure out what you can do to change this sad outlook you have each day. Remember every day is new and you don’t have to give up. Yes, there will be frustrations, money issues and boredom (at first), but we can’t forget our living hope is in Jesus Christ (1 Pe 1:3-4).
He has a purpose for you even this day! And tomorrow too – let’s seek to be ready for it.
